The guest list- Lucy Foley

The guest list is a book about an elite wedding in a very remote setting. An island off the west coast of Ireland with a tragic history and an old castle referred to as The Folly. The bride, Jules Keegan, has a successful magazine start-up and the upscale image to go with it. She is getting married to will, a wealthy and very known person. He has a show so he is quite famous.

“The Guest List” is a psychological thriller, with the theme being a wedding and the days leading up to it. It’s known as “the island of ghosts.” The island home has been deserted since the ’90s, until the wedding planner, Aoife, restores it.

It is written by Lucy Foley and was published the 20th of February, 2020.

I have read about a little bit less than half the book and so far it has been pretty good. Its very confusing at times and mysterious, it’s all ways keeping on edge. It keeps you wondering because just when your about to figure something out, something else happens to distract you from finding out out. Sometimes it’s frustrating but that’s how the book keeps you hooked.

This book is about secrets, lies, betrayal, murder, family, and marriage. It’s slower paced than I’m used to, but the plot builds nicely as the story progresses.

Lucy Foley has published 5 other books, “The Book of Lost and Found”, “The Invitation”, “Last  Letter from Istanbul”, “The Hunting Party”, and “The Paris Apartment”. I really like the guest  list so I think I would like some of her other books so I will definitely be checking those out!

so far, I rate this book a 7.5/10

Summer Vs Winter

Summer is better than winter for the simple fact that you can spend more time outdoors. … Take advantage of the warm summer months to get fresh air, whether that means eating dinner outside, going for a walk, or going to the beach.

Yes, I’m saying summer is better than winter, and I have  the points to prove it (beyond just the fact that summer isn’t cold). Summer gets people outside, and with the amount of time we spend at our desks or on our couch, that’s something we all could use more of in our lives. Maybe we can credit the weather, but I think it’s so much more than that. There’s a sort of magic associated with summer that you simply cannot deny.  there is always something to do during these amazing months.

Since you’ll be spending more time outside during summer, then you’re going to get more vitamin D than you would during winter. This is great, because a majority of us are deficient in vitamin D, which is an important vitamin that supports everything from your body’s ability to absorb calcium, to muscle movement, to your immune system. While you can get vitamin D from food or supplements, the sun is a main source of it!

While we love winter produce too, so many amazing fruits are in season during summer, and they are all so refreshing to eat. From cherries to peaches to watermelon, there isn’t shortage of juicy fruit to shop when those warm months roll around. They’re really like summer’s candy, and we just can’t get enough. And i mean, of course you can get these during the winter month as well but in the summer there fresh so there much better.

It’s pretty depressing when it gets dark as early as 4:30 PM during the dead of winter, don’t you think? It makes you want to just hang out inside, especially when the darkness is accompanied by the cold. during summer you don’t have to worry about any of that, because it stays light much, much later into the day.

In my opinion, summer is way better than winter simply just because summer is so up going and happy. You get to do so many more things. In winter, its just cold and depressing so you want to stay inside all day and do nothing.
