Animals I want as pets

  1. a calf

in my opinion, I think baby cows are so cute.  I have wanted to have one ever since I was little. Obviously, I can’t have one as a pet because eventually it will grow up. And the idea of having a full grown one is just, no. Not for me.

2. bunny

I really want one because they are small and adorable, but, I can’t have one because my mom is severely allergic to them so we cant have them in the house. All though I want one really badly, I wouldn’t take the risk. They also require lots pf clean up work because they can get very messy and will chew anything in sight, and I am pretty lazy so I don’t think that I would be up for all the cleaning. They can also get very expensive.

3: kitten

I used to have a kitten but my sister was really allergic to their fur so we had to give it away. I would really like to get another one though, but now that we have a dog we just don’t know how it would act around it. I think I would want a Norwegian Forest cat, Munchkin cat, or a ragdoll cat.

places i want to visit

(not in order)

1.Costa Rica

I think Costa Rica would be a really cool place to visit. Its a beautiful place, and there are quite a few fun things you could do there such as, white water rafting, ziplining, snorkling, and lots of tourist attractions. Some of those places are The clould forests. Cloud forests are areas of rich greenery that are very humid and moist due to consistent cloud coverage. The warm, tropical temperatures are subdued a bit by the heavy clouds, and the humidity allows plants and animals to thrive. I think that would be really neat to go and see.

2. Pamukkale, Turkey

Pamukkale is a Place in western Turkey known for the mineral-rich thermal waters flowing down white travertine terraces on a nearby hillside. This place is so bueatiful and I definietly would want to vist there one day to see the hot springs.

3. Maui

I think Maui would be a really cool place to go. There are probably so many cool tourist attractions that you could go and visit, not to mention that its absuloutley gorgeous there.

Strange Fears

There are soo many things in this world that people fear, some of those things are very reasonable and understandable but some of them are totally out of the ordinary and strange, so; for my blog today I will be writing about some of the weird and crazy pohobias that people have.

1.Arachibutyrophobia (The fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of your mouth)

As weird as in sounds, yes. Arachibutyrophobia is the fear of peanut butter to the rook of your mouth. Arachibutyrophobia is a rare phobia that can stem from a greater phobia of sticky things or a fear of choking. It may also stem from a traumatic incident with peanut butter, such as choking on or being allergic to it. People with arachibutyrophobia will usually stray away from peanut butter or anything that has the same consistency of it, and will sometime eat it in very small portions. As weird or crazy as you think it is, people with arachibutyrophobia are extremely scared of peanut butter.

2. Arithmophobia (The fear of numbers)

Yes; people do have a fear of numbers. People with this fear usually experience anxiety associated with doing math or dealing with numbers in general, versus fear of actually seeing the number symbols. The fear of numbers is also sometimes referred to as numerophobia. Arithmophobia can significantly impair a person’s life, as it is difficult to do many tasks or occupations without dealing with numbers. Having this fear would be very difficult, I would assume. Because, the fear of numbers, arithmophobia, would make it extremely hard in school.

3. Plutophobia (the fear of money)

When I found out this was a fear that people have, I was shocked because that could ruin a persons chances at getting a job since they don’t want to deal with money. Many people probably wish they had more money, but plutophobia is a fear of money or wealth. People with plutophobia may fear wealthy people or fear becoming wealthy themselves. They generally dread money and having to deal with it.

4. Xanthophobia (The fear of the color yellow)

Xanthophobia is a fear of the color yellow. People with this rare phobia are usually also afraid of any object that is yellow, such as school buses and flowers, foods like banana’s, ETC… the list goes on. People with he phobia will avoid the color yellow at all costs.

5. Optophobia (The fear of opening ones eyes)

This phobia had me in confusing when I first read about it. How can one go about their day without opening their eyes? Its nearly impossible. Obviously, some people do live like that but not out of choice of course, but if you have the ability to see, why would you stop your self? People with optophobia may prefer to stay indoors or in dimly lit areas. This phobia is usually associated with a generalized anxiety disorder. Like many other rare phobias, this fear is usually the result of a traumatic incident.

6. Hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia (The fear of long words)

is the fear of long words, which makes the name of the phobia quite ironic. When I was reading into it I discovered that hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia is actually the longest word in the dictionary. It is believed that the phobia of long words develops from being embarrassed by pronouncing long words incorrectly. This may occur while reading aloud in front of the class as a child. This phobia is also referred as  sesquipedalophobia, and can also be common in people with whom have dyslexia.

In my spare time…

Week days are pretty boring and un eventful for me.  Come home from school, do my home work if I have any, help make supper, chores, and then just lounge around for the remainder of the day that’s left. Nothing special. just plain, old, boring. So, I decided that for todays blog I am going to right about some things that I do/ like to do in my spare time at home.

(not in order)

1.reading.

Usually I read late at night, before I go to bed. I don’t get why a lot of people don’t like to read. Maybe because they think of it as almost as homework because usually, reading is something people mostly do in school  and are always told it’s  for their knowledge and to expand their vocabulary, blah, blah, blah. When I am reading I just block those parts out because then I don’t really want to so when I’m reading my book I am reading it for the sole purpose of just enjoying it, not so much for education. I just find in enjoyable and very calming to sit in my bed in the dark and use only the sunlight beaming in through the window to read.

2.Netflix

We had just got Netflix recently so now that’s usually all I’m doing in my spare time, because there isn’t really anything to do. Its just relaxing to lay there for hours on end and watch all your favorite shows over and over again after a long day at school.

Netflix finally tells users what its most watched films and TV shows are

3. Sleeping

I feel like this one is obvious. Who doesn’t like sleep?? When I get home from school I am so tired and blown out I just want to lay in my bed for a couple hours and sleep. And… Yeah. That’s exactly what I do. I don’t everyday, every once in a while I’ll come home and take a long couple hour long nap.

Now that I think about it, that’s pretty much all I do in my spare time actually, except for the occasional grocery runs and trips to the city. Or hanging out with friends.  Other than that, I did warn you it was pretty un eventful!!

my favorite books

Since I love reading, today for my blog post I decided to write to write about my top five favorite books that I have read this year.

(1 is my favorite- 3 is least favorite)

#1: Slayers, C.J Hill:

I did a book talk on the slayers book series two blogs back . So if  you want to read what it’s about (The first book) click here and it will take you to that one.  This is my favorite  book series because it very detailed, and thoroughly thought about. The author clearly knew when she was going going to turn it and make shocking points and when she was going to I don’t know, make everything add up and make sense for even more of a shock. I have read it over at least three times now because of how good it is. The type of genre it is is something I’m interested in and like reading about. There were definitely many moments where I was shocked about what had happened and moments where I had a big realization of something I have been questioning about that really hooked me in this authors writing.

Slayers (Slayers, #1) by C.J. Hill | Goodreads

#2: One of us is lying, Karen M McManus:

This is also a series but I have only read This one book in particular. I want  read the rest of the books though because I really enjoyed this one. It’s basically a whole series of a murder mystery, and if you have my blog about jobs I am  interested in, you would know I’m very interested in crimes, and all that sort of things So I had no doubt that I would like this book.

#3: The Selection, Keira Cass:

This is another book series that I really like. Once again, There is a great amount of detail and thought put into the series and the writing. I have only read this series once but I really enjoyed it and I would probably read it again when I get the chance and the time. This series is A journey of America Singer, well, for  the first three books at least. She gets entered in a competition called “The Selection”. Basically the hunger games in looking for a Bachelor for “the rest of her life”

future jobs

I’m not exactly sure what I want to do when I’m older, I want to go and travel lots but with the jobs I’m interested in, I cant really. My options I want are an Oncologist, crime scene investigator,  marine biologist, or a lawyer.

]I have wanted to be an Oncologist since grade six, but I feel like I don’t want to as much as I did in previous years. If you don’t know what an Oncologist, it’s a doctor who treats cancer. There are different kid like, medical, radiation, surgical, pediatric, gynecologic, and hematologists. I wanted to be a medical oncologist. Medical oncologist treat cancer using chemotherapy, hormonal therapies, biological therapies, and other targeted treatments. I still would like to be one and would be happy if I  got the chance but I’ve recently been leaning away from it and thinking of other things I’m interested in.

a short description on medical oncology

I think a crime scene investigator/ detective would be really interesting especially since the only shows I watch on TV are really all just crime shows like Law and Order SUV, 911, ETC. I just think it’s something I would enjoy and be passionate about because I have always been interested in this type of thing. But, I think I would have to travel and live somewhere else for, I don’t know, more opportunity , I guess. Which, I’m not sure if I would want to.

I think being a Marine biologist would be cool. I think it would allow me too travel a bit more and it would be fun to swim with and learn about all of the animals and other things to do with oceanography. A marine biologist is a scientist who specializes in the study of marine mammals. There are over 100 species of marine mammals including pinnipeds (seals, sea lions, and walrus), cetaceans (whales, dolphins, and porpoises), sirenians (manatees and dugongs), and some carnivores, such as sea otters and polar bears. I like this job because I think that working with sea animals are cool and it requires you to travel a lot, which is what I want to do. It is also a pretty well paid job.

about marine biologists

Another thing I’m interested in being is a lawyer. There is a wide range of different kind of lawyers. The one I would want to be is a criminal lawyer, which, then again, falls into the whole detective  stuff that I’m interested in. I think that this would be a good one to because its less dangerous than a detective, but that really depends on the case and stuff But this is another option that I’ve wanted for a long time. I think I’ve wanted to be a lawyer since around grade 4.

Book talk: Slayers

Slayers was published in 2011, on september 27th. Is was writen by C.J Hill, or Janette Rallison. C.J Hill is just her pen name.

a bit about her: Jenette Rallison was born  April 1st, 1966, and is 55 years old. She published her first book in 1996, is was called “Deep Blue Eyes: And Other Lies”

Slayers is the first book in C.J Hills 5 series of slayers books. The seconds was published october 8th, 2013, and the third, october 15th, 2013. the fourth was published in november of 2016, and the fifth in 2018, on march 7th. There is a sixths book but its just a point of veiw from one of the main characters.

So far, the whole main idea of this book is that in the past in the story there were dragons and then they got taken in, ruled over, and trained by some sort of dragon king to take over countrys. But, in the past, knight put dragon DNA in them and made them desendants to the drangons and passed in down for their next genorations to inherit. Unfortuantly for the drangon lord, if pregnant woman who were decedents from the knights were to walk past one of the eggs of the dragons the child would then get thier powers which would later help defeat the dragons and the lords plan to take over, which  is exactly what happened. A doctor who studys drangons made a camp to bring all the slayers together, They had been their for years but then a new girl shows up. Tori.

In this book There is lots of trust, betrayel, lies, and very shocking moments. This is one of my favorite books ever and i think im going to get the rest of the series when i am finsiened reading the first one.

Overall, i give this book a 10/10 and i definetly recomend you read it.

My winter break and thoughts on online learning

My winter break was pretty chill, I didnt do much. Saw a couple friends at the beginning but mostly just stayed home because now with COVID there is not really much you can do.

I watched movies alot and facetimed friends most of the time, went skating a little. It was pretty boring but im not ready for it to end, it feels like it just went by so fast. Techniacally, it is over now but were in online learning so im still at home. I like doing online learning, I find it a bit easier and less stressful than in person. The only down side to it is that i get distracted a lot, and really easily too. Its also hard to find the motavation to do the work when your sitting at home all day because who really wants to do school all day when their bed is right there.

I found that since over the break i had been sleeping in really late a lot it was hard to start waking up early for school and now i have to put myself back into the routine of getting up earlier.

I like doing the online because you dont really need to get ready, you can just do school in your pajamas, but another downside for me on online learning is wifi, so sometimes i cant do certain things at the right time because everything take forever to download.

over all, i think im excited to go back to in person school so i can see my friends because i havent left my house in about two weeks but I am a little nervous because of the Covid cases growing. Im fine with online learing but i would much rather do it in person so i would have less distractions from getting my work done, also some of the things we had to do were a little confusing to me because in person its easier to explain the the assignment is rather than online but most of it was easy.
